About Us

I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Megan Franklin, I am a 20 year old junior at the University of Central Arkansas. I plan to graduate in Fall of 2021 with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Communication.

If you couldn’t tell from the content of this blog, I absolutely love dogs. They are my soft spot.

My family has a lot of history in adopting dogs. One of our family dogs, Sparky, was a rescue that we have had for almost six years now. My dog, Miley, just recently passed away after an amazing fourteen years of being with us. We adopted her when I was about seven years old.

This was taken the day that Miley came home to us, my dad came home from work and had Miley with him. At the time, her name was Margarita. I was so happy to have her, I cried the entire night. I was so happy that my sweet girl had finally found her family.

This picture was taken when I came home for Christmas last year. At this time, Miley was partially deaf and fully blind, but still as feisty and energetic as ever! As you can see, we started keeping her hair short, due to the fact that she loved running around outside and laying in piles of leaves.

Adopting Miley changed her life but, she also changed my life. You can ask anyone that knows me, Miley was my best friend in the entire world. She was very protective of me, if someone new ever came to meet my family, we used Miley as the deciding factor to tell if they were a good person or not.

Dogs have always kind of just migrated to my parents house. There was a time period that we referred to our household as the ‘Hotel For Dogs’ because we had 5 stray dogs come and live with us (not all at once) until we found them a new home, or returned them to their owners.

While dogs are my soft spot, shelter dogs take up an even bigger part of my heart. That’s why I am here making this blog, to try and spread love regarding the dogs that do not seem to get all the love they deserve.
